Trainee Water Hygiene Technician (Legionella) - Dantek Environmental Services

Dantek is searching for a talented field service technician to join our team, working to prevent Legionnaires' disease. This varied role offers career progression and technical training from a company with a great reputation in the legionella control industry.

The ideal candidate will have experience of site-based work, together with good practical skills, ideally some plumbing knowledge and a great attitude to customer service.

The work is varied and the environment changes daily, making this a challenging and interesting role.

To join the team you will need:

  • 2 years experience in a field-based role

  • To be capable of physical work, lifting, carrying and climbing
  • Full current UK driving Licence
  • Based within 30 miles of Thornbury
  • A genuine desire to learn about legionella control including the ACoPL8 and HSG274
  • Ability to plan, organise yourself and follow job instructions and method statements
  • Plumbing knowledge is an advantage

The job role will include:

  • Cold water storage tank cleaning and disinfection, which includes handling and dosing chemicals.
  • Showerhead cleaning and disinfection.
  • Cold water storage tank inspections.
  • Water hygiene monitoring tasks including temperature testing, tank inspections, samples and calorifier inspections.
  • Preparing and completing job sheets by hand
  • Preparing your equipment and P.P.E prior to attending site work
  • Driving to site (25,000 business miles per annum)
