Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle is seeking a Head Pastry Chef to join our talented Hotel Team. You will be working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle, supporting our team to create truly memorable and impressive 5* experiences for our guests.

About Us
Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. The Castle has recently undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment program bringing back to life the regal grandeur of its past.

Located 20 minutes drive from Bristol, it offers 27 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar, and two unique meeting and conference spaces. our food style is modern British using the best locally sourced produce from our kitchen garden and around the southwest. We operate 7 days a week, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, and Sunday lunch as well as the occasional wedding and functions.

Our company goal is to deliver “refined and personalized hospitality” to enable our hotel to be a place where all guests can relax, enjoy themselves, and have a break from normal life. To feel like royalty in a unique place with unique people.

Job Description
The Offer:

  • Full-time permanent position 48 hours per week
  • Salary from £36k per annum PLUS joining bonus of £2K split into 3 payments (payable at 3, 6, and 9 months)
  • An additional share of service charge and tips ( about 4k per year. Paid every 2 months)

About You

  • A truly talented Chef with a professional approach, great passion and flair for the industry and food
  • Responsible for the preparation and the service of the Pastry department
  • Experience at 3 AA Rosette or 1 Michelin star environment is ideal or at least 5years experience in 2 AA Rosette within a similar role or above
  • Bringing a calm mature approach with a resilient nature that thrives under pressure
  • Natural ability as a chef with outstanding attention for detail
  • Dedicated excellent team player with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and using own initiative and the ambition to succeed at the highest levels
  • Strictly follow all food safety and health & safety procedures

Salary: From £36,000.00 per year

  • Ability to commute/relocate: Bristol, BS35 1HH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
